Frequently Asked Questions
Why are you running for the St. Clair County Board of Education?
I am running because I believe strong schools require experienced, steady leadership focused on students, teachers, and long-term success. After more than 30 years in education, I want to give back to the community that shaped me and help guide our schools forward.
What experience do you bring to the school board?
I have served as a classroom teacher, principal, district administrator, state education specialist, adjunct professor, and education executive. I understand instruction, finance, accountability, and leadership — and how board decisions affect classrooms.
What makes you different from other candidates?
I bring both hands-on classroom experience and high-level leadership expertise. I have managed budgets, led accreditation efforts, supported literacy initiatives, and worked directly with educators across Alabama — while remaining deeply connected to St. Clair County.
What are your top priorities if elected?
My priorities include student achievement, early literacy, support for teachers and school leaders, responsible financial oversight, transparency, and strong partnerships with families and the community.
How will you represent Odenville and Margaret?
I will be an accessible, engaged board member who listens, communicates clearly, and represents the values of Place 6 with integrity and professionalism.
How can I support your campaign?
You can support the campaign by spreading the word, engaging in conversations about education, and reaching out with ideas and questions. Community involvement matters.
