Family

Married to Angie Boswell Cobb for 25 years (The love of my life)

Together, we love to travel. We are ready to go at a minute's notice! We are chipping away on our “bucket list” trips as quickly as possible. We are empty nesters and love spending time together, whether it be relaxing at home or on the road. We also love antiques. We can spend hours in antique stores and visiting old historic sites. We both love the Lord and are Christians. We attend and are active at Church of the Highlands.

Angie is a Registered Nurse and has worked for 23 years with Noland Health Systems. Her specialty is Geriatrics. Currently, she is the Director of Education for all the Noland Health Networks. Her true love is in the kitchen where she enjoys preparing gourmet meals for friends, family, and even dabbles in catering for events.

Together, they are travelers as well. They love ski trips and will be in Milan, Italy for the winter Olympic games. They are both animal lovers and have their own little farm with chickens (many), three cats (Gracie, Mittens, and Smokey) and a golden lab named Fox. They both place God first in their lives and are active members of Church of the Highlands.

Growing up on a dairy farm

Growing up on Cobb’s Dairy (owned by my grandfather, James D. (Bud) Cobb, I learned what hard work looked like and now understand how those roots have shaped my career and desire to serve my community. I am proud to have had the best parents, if only for a short time. My dad was Frankie Cobb (SCCHS Class of 1965) and Linda Glidewell Cobb (SCCHS Class of 1965). Dad worked the dairy with my uncle and my grandfather. We lost dad at the age of 34 to a Pulmonary Embolism in his sleep. Many SCCHS students from the 1980’s will remember my mother, Linda, as she worked at the school. During my senior year of college, I lost my mom to breast cancer. She was only 45.  Despite my losses, God has provided. He is my reason for doing what I do. He instilled a love for children/teens in me that I could never deny. I feel called to be on the Board of Education. I feel called to serve my hometown of Odenville.

My mom’s side of the family originated in Margaret. My great grandfather’s family were coal miners and owned a store in Margaret. The Glidewell’s, Brown’s and Barker’s all contributed to the early days of Margaret when it was a coal mining town. After a few years living in Birmingham, in the 1950’s, my mom, her sister (Anne Glidewell) and grandmother and grandfather moved to Moody where they spent their remaining years.

Fun Fact: My grandfather, James D. Cobb, served on the St. Clair County Board of Education in the 1960’s.
